Defence Academy, RBAF, Friday, 23 May 2025 – Her Excellency Alexandra McKenzie, British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, engaged in a senior leadership dialogue with participants of the Command and Staff Course 15/2025 at the Command and Staff College, Defence Academy, RBAF.
In her address, Her Excellency shared valuable insights into her leadership approach, shaped by years of diplomatic service. She highlighted the importance of adaptability, empathy, and strategic foresight in navigating complex global challenges. She reflected on the strong and longstanding defence partnership between the United Kingdom and Brunei Darussalam, which continues to serve as a pillar of regional stability in the Indo-Pacific. The dialogue underscored the relevance of international cooperation in strengthening security frameworks, enhancing interoperability, and maintaining peace in a region facing evolving threats. Her Excellency reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to working with Brunei to promote shared values, professional development, and multilateral engagement.
The session formed part of the course’s leadership development series, providing participants with first-hand perspectives from senior diplomatic leaders on the intersection of leadership, strategy, and security cooperation.
