TANAH JAMBU, DEFENCE ACADEMY, Friday, 3 September 2021 - The 11th Command and Staff Course (CSC11) today listened to a lecture on the subject Information Operations by a guest speaker from US-INDOPACOM, Major Meredith Fonseca. The lecture was held virtually via video-teleconference and was attended online by the CSC11 course participants, members of the Directing Staff and observed by Commander Randall Jones from the US Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan.The lecture had introduced the course participants to the various aspects of Information Operations including Rhetorical design, Narrative development, the Integration of Information Operations and key Information Operations concepts.
Subsequently, a question and answer session was held which gave an opportunity for the CSC11 course participants and members of the Directing Staff to field questions and interact further with the guest speaker. Prior to the end of the virtual session, Major (U) Arif Shamirul bin Salleh, Course Leader of CSC11, gave the closing remarks and expressed appreciation to Major Fonseca on behalf of the Command and Staff College for delivering the lecture.
The lecture and topics covered were beneficial for the course participants as they are currently going through their Operational Planning phase and may provide further understanding in applying Information Advantage within their operational plans throughout the upcoming operational exercises and beyond.
